Chance The Rapper has attempted to put an end to the rumors circulating about a possible career in politics for the young star. The 24-year-old artist has confirmed he is not interested in joining politics anytime soon.
“I would never run for any office or government position,” Chance is quoted in his cover story for EBONY magazine. “I’m not into it. I think politics is a reason why a lot of stuff doesn’t get done. There’s a lot of favors, and a lot of people are held back by their intentions of being re-elected or the things that they owe their party or constituents. I think when you’re in my position as an artist, I can say what I want and talk about the issues that matter.”
Chance recently took matters into his own hands to help Chicago Public Schools with some generous monetary donations. He met with Governor Bruce Rauner prior to the donations, but insists the meetings with the governor were not very productive.
