Notorious B.I.G. Mural in Brooklyn to be Removed

The now insta-famous “King of NY” mural on Bedford Avenue and Quincy in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn will be taken down by the landlord of the building.

Painted just two years ago in 2015 by Naoufal “Rocko” Alaoui and Scott “Zimer” Zimmerman, the mural has already met it’s demise.

Landlord Samuel Berkowitz is removing the mural to add more windows to his building and increase the property value, sparking a number of attempts to protect the mural.

There’s a petition online started to have the building placed under protection as a historic landmark by the Landmarks and Preservation Commission.
